The climate of Benguela (Angola)
Benguela is a large port in the western part of Angola in the Benguela province. It is also the capital of this province. The city played an important role during the time of the Portuguese slave trade. The city of Lobito which is in the vicinity has an even deeper harbor so most large cargo ships dock here. The two cities are connected by a railroad. Besides the port and a train station the city also has its own airport.
Benguela has a warm steppe climate and gets little annual precipitation. Only during the first few months of the year there are some chances of rain. Temperatures are pleasant the year round without getting too warm or too cold.
