The climate of Neuquén (Argentina)
Neuquén is located slightly west from central Argentina where the Neuquén River and the Limay River flow into each other to form the Dulce River. Neuquén is the largest city in the Neuquén province of which it also is the capital. This part of Argentina is also referred to as Patagonia. The city is situated in between a valley and a plateau which gives the city its characteristic view from an elevated position. The most beautiful attractions are Balcón de Valle and the Plaza de las Banderas. Neuquén is at an altitude of 260 meters.
Neuquén has a moderate climate with distinct summers and winters. The high mountain tops in the region are responsible for little rainfall on an annual basis. Snowfall is uncommon; once every 5 years on average. Winters are cold. Subzero temperatures are not uncommon; even during the day. In the higher regions floods are not uncommon; caused by heavy rainfall which is not uncommon in the higher regions.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
