The climate of Altenmarkt (Austria) Altenmarkt is located in central Austria in Salzburgerland and can
easily be reached via the A10/E55. There are more hotels beds in the
city than it has inhabitants. During the winter it is very pleasant to
go skiing or cross country skiing on one of the several pistes that
can be found here. During the summer you can go mountain biking,
walking or cycling. The city of Salzburg is 66 kilometers away and is
well worth visiting. You can also go to Gmünd where you can visit the
Porsche museum. During the winter subzero temperatures are not
uncommon. However, because of the sunshine it will not feel as cold as
it is (windchill factor). Altenmarkt has a high annual precipitation
figure. The figures shown below are for the village. Please, bear in
mind that the skiing tracks are at a higher altitude where it may be
much colder.
