The climate of Filzmoos (Austria)
Filzmoos is a village located at 60 kilometers from the city of Mozart: Salzburg. The village has a romantic atmosphere with beautiful views on the Bischofsmuetze and Dachstein. The village is known for the many possibilities to go skiing during the winter and walking and mountain biking during the summer. In January you can go ballooning and see this beautiful mountainous region from the sky, hundreds of balloons go up then. The Dachstein glacier is located at an altitude of 2,700 meters at 18 kilometers from Filzmoos. During the winter the area is covered in a thick blanket of snow. During spring and autumn heavy rainfall is not uncommon. Because of the continental climate summers may be warm. Please, bear in mind that the skiing tracks are at a higher altitude where it may be much colder.
