The climate of De Panne (Belgium)
De Panne is the most westerly located place in Belgium and the most southerly located place on the Flemish coast. The seaside resort of De Panne is on the French border and was named after its characteristic dunes (“pan” is a hollow in the dunes). An important tourist attraction besides the beach is Plopsaland, which is a theme park especially for children; hours of pleasure for the little ones can be found here. De Panne itself has enough to offer as well. The dunes are beautiful, several museums can be found here and several festivals are held. Culinary enthusiasts are also in the right place. De Panne has many restaurants and brasseries; here you can taste everything the sea has the offer. De Panne has a moderate rainy climate strongly influenced by the warm Gulf Stream from the Atlantic Ocean. Winters are pleasant, but rather cold with temperatures of 3 degrees Celsius on average. Summers are very pleasant with temperatures of 20 degrees on average.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
