The climate of Gweta (Botswana)
Gweta is located in the north-eastern part of Botswana not far from the Makgadikgadi salt pans. These pans are the largest in the world and cover an area of 16,000 square kilometers. In the village itself only a shop and a gas station can be found. Just outside the village a tourist spot can be found where you can spend the night in a traditional rondavel, an African-style hut. Gweta has a warm steppe climate with many warm and hot days and cold nights. During the night temperatures may drop to freezing point. There is not much annual precipitation. The rain that does fall mostly falls during summer.
