The climate of Shakawe (Botswana)
Shakawe is located in the north-western part of Botswana not far from Angola and Namibia. Shakawe is situated in the vicinity of the Caprivi Strip which is the border with Angola. The Okavango delta is in the vicinity, this is the largest inland delta in the world. Just outside the city Tsodilo can be found, which is also known as the Louvre of the desert. More than 4,500 rock drawings were found here in more than 500 different places. Tsodilo has been a Unesco world heritage site since 2001. Shakawe has a warm steppe climate with warm summers and mild winters. During the winter there is hardly any precipitation. During the summer a lot of rain may fall. Because on average there is little rain there is also little vegetation here.
