The climate of Yinchuan (China)
Yinchuan is a city located in the northern part of China. The name literally means: Silver river. The most important attractions are the Western Xia tombs and the Sand Lake. Two old pagodas are also well worth visiting. Yinchuan has hosted the annual Yinchuan International Car and Motorcycle Tourism Festival since 2000. In the vicinity of the city several remains of the Chinese Wall can be found. The city is centrally situated in the Ningxia plains on the leeward side of Mount Helan. The Yellow River flows through the city. Yinchuan has a cold desert climate. Winters are cold, dry and windy. During spring dust storms occur. Summers are reasonably wet and mild.
