The climate of Moroni (Comoros)
Moroni is the capital of the Comores. With ample forty-thousand inhabitants Moroni is the biggest town of the country. Moroni lies on the west coast of the Isle of Grande Comore and was originally founded by Arab occupants in the 10th century. Moroni is the logistic heart of the country due to the international airport of Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport and the existence of the harbour which also serves as transit harbour.
Moroni has a tropical rainforest climate of which the drier period is not dry enough to be able to speak of a monsoon climate. The wettest months occur at the beginning of the year. In the months of January, February and March on an average more than three-hundred millimeters per month are registered. Ample 2500 mm of rain falls on a yearly basis.
