The climate of La Fortuna (Costa Rica)
La Fortuna  de San Carlos or La Fortuna for short is one of the most popular starting points for a visit to the Arenal volcano. La Fortuna is the natural transition zone between the volcanic area and the forest. La Fortuna offers several more beautiful sites: a beautiful waterfall and hot springs that can be found in the vicinity. In this region you can also go rafting, hiking and horseback riding. La Fortuna has a tropical rainforest climate. However, because La Fortuna is situated at a higher altitude temperatures are slightly tempered. Rain falls all year round. This causes high humidity figures and a muggy feel. Temperatures are pleasant all year round.
