The climate of Paralimni (Cyprus)
Paralimni is a city and a municipality on Cyprus in the Famagusta Region. Within the boundaries of this municipality the popular seaside resorts Protaras and Ayia Napa can be found. Paralimni does not attract as many tourists as the seaside resorts on the coast. The largest part of the population of Paralimni works in the tourist industry. Since the division of Cyprus the population of Paralimni has almost doubled causing Paralimni to mainly consist of new housing. Just outside the city the village of Dherinia can be found which offers a view of the ghost town of Famagusta. Enosis Neon Paralimni soccer club play their home matches in Paralimni. Paralimni has a Mediterranean climate with warm to hot summers and cool but pleasant winters. Paralimni is situated in one of the driest regions in Cyprus. Only during the winter longer periods with precipitation occur. During the summer temperatures are just above 30 degrees Celsius on average, the temperature of the sea is only a few degrees lower during this period.

The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
