The climate of Protaras (Cyprus)
Protaras is a popular tourist resort located in the northeastern part of Cyprus in the vicinity of Paralimni and the tourist city of Ayia Napa. Protaras is known for its beautiful blue seas and its snow white beaches. The most famous beach in Protaras is Fig Tree Bay. Because Ayia Napa is becoming increasingly more popular as a tourist destination the city of Protaras is doing its utmost to attract tourists. Nowadays, the seaside resort is very popular among young families.
Protaras has a moderate Mediterranean climate with pleasantly warm and dry summers and cool and wet winters. Summers are pleasantly warm, sometimes even hot with temperatures just above 30 degrees Celsius on average. During the warmest days of the year an ever blowing sea breeze offers some cooling. The temperature of the sea is suitable for swimming all year round and especially pleasant during the summer.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
