The climate of Marsa Alam (Egypt)
The seaside resort of Marsa Alam is one of the most southern and
consequently one of the warmest seaside resorts in Egypt. Marsa Alam
is situated on the Tropic of Cancer, which means that during the
solstice the sun rays are just overhead which means at right angles to
the ground. This is quite noticeable because of the high temperatures
and the glaring sun during virtually the whole day. Clouds are rare
and rainfall hardly ever occurs. During most years it only rains for
one or two days. However, there are whole years without one single
drop of rain. Marsa Alam is fortunate enough to get a refreshing wind
from the Red Sea. This makes the heat more bearable during the summer
months. Winters are very pleasant with temperatures during the day
between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius. During the night minimum
temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees Celsius can be recorded.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
