The climate of Memphis (Egypt)
Memphis is one of the most important tourist destinations in Egypt. In
the ancient Egyptian empire Memphis was an important and sacred city.
The temple that marked this can still be seen in its old glory. The
city was founded by Pharaoh Menes in the 30th century BC. It was the
capital of Egypt for a long time. The city was protected by the God
Ptah. Several remains from this era can still be admired in the Museum
of Memphis where you also can find ancient treasures. Memphis has a
desert climate. Although temperatures may rise during the day
nighttimes can actually get quite cold. During the night temperatures
may drop up to 20 degrees Celsius. There is hardly any rain fall.
