The climate of Isle of Wight (England)
The Isle of Wight is an island off the coast of Southampton. This island is ideal for a short holiday. The beautiful hilly landscape is ideal for long walks. The pleasant climate attracts a lot of tourists. Osborne House can be found on the island. This house was Queen Victoria’s family home, completely built in Italian Renaissance style. Queen Victoria came to the island to enjoy the mild climate and the lovely surroundings. Osborne House is a beautiful stately home; it gives you a good idea of how the well-to-do lived during the time of Queen Victoria. The island has beautiful bays and lovely small towns on the coast.
The climate is milder than in Great Britain; this is caused by the warm Gulf Stream. Rain falls all year round. A constant mild breeze makes rainfall usually short lived. During the summer temperatures are around 20 degrees Celsius on average. Winters are mild and snow is uncommon. During autumn storms may occur.
