The climate of Ajaccio (France)
The town of Ajaccio is the largest and the capital of the Isle of Corsica, snugly situated in a bay just a little more land inward and surrounded by hills grown over with olive- and orange trees.
Owing to this in the winter Ajaccio is well-protected against the cold north wind and the temperature decreases below zero only a few times. In the summer this causes extreme heat every now and then when the wind dies down. Besides this native town of the great emperor Napoleon Bonaparte has a lovely Mediterranean climate with mild winters and splendid summers.
