The climate of Tignes (France)
Tignes is a popular wintersport resort in the French Alps and is part of the district of Albertville. Tignes is situated near the skiregion Espace Killy, which is connected with Val-dIsre. The old village of Tignes lay in the valley but because of the construction of a flood-control dam it was flooded and the inhabitants sought safety higher on the hill. Also in the summer months you can ski here but mainly on the flanks of the Grande Motte. The small village is located at about 200 meters distance from the skilifts.
