The climate of Huahine (French Polynesia)
Huahine is part of the leeward islands group in French Polynesia. The leeward islands are located among the Society Islands. Instead of tourism the main source of income for the island is the cultivation of vanilla and coconuts. However, several tourist resorts can be found on the island. Most of which are situated on one of the beautiful white beaches. Huahine has about 6,000 inhabitants.
Huahine has a tropical rainforest climate with high annual precipitation figures, especially winters are wet. From June till September precipitation figures are lowest. From December till June there is a risk of tropical storms and hurricanes. The average annual temperature during the day is 30 degrees Celsius.
