The climate of Kerewan (Gambia)
Kerewan is located in the northwestern part of Gambia and is the capital of the North Bank Region. This region is divided into six districts; all of them under the administration of Kerewan. Kerewan has a tropical savannah climate. Although Kerewan islocated further inland it is situated in a transitional climate zone which is a sort of cross between the climate that can be found in the interior and the climate of the coastal regions. This means the hottest periods are not as hot here as further inland and cold days are slightly warmer here than on the coast. The rainy period is from the second part of June till the second part of October and may cause inconvenience. The climate of Kerewan is influenced by the north easterly trade wind and the Harmattan. The rainy period is locally known as the Nawet.
