The climate of Dusseldorf (Germany)
Dusseldorf is the capital of the federal state of North Rhine Westphalia and is located close to the Dutch border. In December the old city center transforms into one big Christmas market. About 250 stalls can be found throughout the city which gives the city a cosy and fairytale like atmosphere. Several beautiful buildings can be admired here as well including Schloss Benrath (castle). Dusseldorf has a moderate maritime climate strongly influenced by the warm Gulf Stream from the Atlantic Ocean. There are no large differences in temperatures between summer and winter. Winters are mild. However, when an easterly wind blows it may get cold.
