The climate of Monschau (Germany)
Monschau  is a small city located near the border with Belgium in the federal state of North Rhine Westphalia on the upper reaches of the Ruhr River. The city is a popular tourist destination among Belgians and Dutch. Most tourists travel here to admire the beautiful historic center of the city as well as the many sites in the vicinity of the city. The most popular attractions in the vicinity of the city include Monschau castle, a waldlehrpfad (forest path), the Red House and a mustard mill. The Ardennes Culture Boulevard in Belgium is only a few minutes by car. Just like the rest of Germany Monschau has a moderate maritime climate with mild winters and relatively cool summers. This is mainly caused by the influence of the warm Gulf Stream. Because of this large differences between the seasons are uncommon. Average temperatures during the summer are only 18 degrees Celsius apart from the average temperatures during the winter which is not much compared to other climate types.
