The climate of Cagliari (Italy)
Cagliari is the capital of the island Sardinia, situated in the Mediterranean Sea. Because of its central location in the Mediterranean Sea Cagliari has been inhabited by several different cultures over the years. This is still reflected by the culture and the atmosphere of the city. Cagliari has a mishmash of different styles. Cagliari still has a Medieval town-wall. In this suburb you can still find several museums with modern art and archaeological finds. In the suburb of Marina you can enjoy the excellent Italian cuisine in one of the many ‘trattoria’. Many restaurants and bars can be found here that serve all kinds of seafood. Because Cagliari is situated on the southern part of the island the climate is influenced by a warm wind from the Sahara. Don’t be surprised to find desert sand on your balcony after a windy night. The sea wind somewhat moderates temperatures, which is very pleasant. During the summer temperatures may rise up to 35+ degrees Celsius. Cagliari hardly gets any rain. During the winter there are only a few rainy days per month.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
