The climate of Genoa (Italy)
Genoa or Genova in Italian is a large port in the north-western part of Italy located on the Ligurian Sea. During Roman times this was one of the most important ports of the Mediterranean Sea. The city has a historical center with many monuments. Among them are: the Cathedral di san Lorenzo, Palazzo Reale, Palazzo San Giorgio, La Laterne and la Casa di Christoffel Columbo. Christopher Columbus is probably the most famous Genoese. The city is beautifully situated on the Mediterranean Sea, like an Amphitheater against the slopes. Many beautiful old suburbs can be found in Genoa with a mishmash of alleys where you can enjoy the Italian cuisine. Many restaurants can be found at the old harbour. Jazz enthusiasts are in the right place in Genoa. One of the oldest Jazz cafés can be found here. Genoa has a moderate climate. During the summer temperatures will be around 25 degrees Celsius. An ever blowing sea breeze offers some cooling. Winters are mild in Genoa with heavy rainstorms every now and then. Subzero temperatures are uncommon.
