The climate of Puerto Morelos (Mexico)
Puerto Morelos is a small fisherman’s town at half an hour’s drive from Cancun. Puerto Moreles attracts many divers. About 800 meters from the coast the Grand Mayan Reef can be found. This is the second largest barrier reef in the world. The area is also ideal for other water sports. The surroundings of the city are very beautiful. Botanical gardens, a mangrove swamp and the Crococun Zoo are all in the vicinity. The most remarkable building is the leaning lighthouse which was blown off center by hurricane Beulah. Summers are warm to hot with heavy showers. Most of the rain falls from June till October. Winters are much more pleasant and drier. When the weather is sunny the sea at Puerto Moreles gets a blue-greenish color which makes a beautiful contrast with the white sandy beach.
