The climate of Arnhem (the Netherlands)
Arnhem is a city located in the eastern part of the Netherlands. The city is famous for its so called ‘trolley-buses’. These are electric buses covering the entire city. The open air museum is one of the biggest attractions of Arnhem. The history of the Netherlands is displayed here here in a playful way. Arnhem is situated on one of the most beautiful national parks in the Netherlands: the Hoge Veluwe. A very rich natural park with a large diversity in plant and animal life. Because of its central situation in a network of waterways and highways Arnhem is an important hub for connections to and from Germany. Arnhem has a maritime climate characterized by high precipitation figures. Because of its central situation Arnhem gets more rainfall than other places in the Netherlands. Differences in temperatures are smaller in a maritime climate than in a continental climate. The number of days with subzero temperatures and the amount of snow that falls here are small. Extremely low temperatures hardly ever occur here. However, when subzero temperatures do occur De Hoge Veluwe may transform into a fairytale scenery. This is likely to happen in January and February.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
