The climate of Wassenaar (the Netherlands)
Wassenaar is a small municipality located in the western part of the province of South Holland and is part of the Rotterdam-The Hague metropolis region. Wassenaar consists of a center surrounded by several suburbs. In one of these suburbs the Duinrell amusement park is situated. One of the main attractions in this amusement park is the subtropical Tikibad swimming paradise. Villa Eikenhorst, situated at the De Horsten estate, is the residence of Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima. Wassenaar has a moderate maritime climate influenced by the warm Gulf Stream. Summers are pleasantly warm with temperatures just above 20 degrees Celsius. During the winter daytime temperatures are just above freezing point. Longer periods with subzero temperatures (during the night) are not uncommon. Precipitation is evenly spread out over the year.
