The climate of Alesund (Norway)
Alesund is located in the northern part of the broader part of Norway on the coast with its many fjords. The city is situated on a narrow spit of land between the Heissa Fjord and the Ellingsöy Fjord. Alesund is one of the most important fishing ports in Norway. Although the city was completely destroyed by fire in 1900 it was rebuilt in a very stylish way. The nostalgic port is well worth visiting. However, if you want to see a real fishing cutter you need to be just outside Alesund. In Alesund you can rent a boat to go sea fishing . Alesund has a maritime climate. There are slight differences in temperatures between summer and winter. Alesund gets a fairly high amount of precipitation. Especially during fall high precipitation figures can be recorded. May and June are the driest months.
