The climate of Alesund (Norway)
Alesund is located in the northern part of the broader part of Norway
on the coast with its many fjords. The city is situated on a narrow
spit of land between the Heissa Fjord and the Ellingsöy Fjord. Alesund
is one of the most important fishing ports in Norway. Although the
city was completely destroyed by fire in 1900 it was rebuilt in a very
stylish way. The nostalgic port is well worth visiting. However, if
you want to see a real fishing cutter you need to be just outside
Alesund. In Alesund you can rent a boat to go sea fishing . Alesund
has a maritime climate. There are slight differences in temperatures
between summer and winter. Alesund gets a fairly high amount of
precipitation. Especially during fall high precipitation figures can
be recorded. May and June are the driest months.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
