The climate of Fredrikstad (Norway)
Fredrikstad is located in the southeastern part of Norway on the mouth of the Glomma River. The Swedish border is only 30 kilometers from Fredrikstad. The city was founded as a fortified city and has been well preserved. Most fortified structures have been well preserved; in the center you can still walk along the old bridges and canals. The coast of Fredrikstad is known for the many islands. Several ferries connect these lively islands to the mainland. Because of the warm Gulf Stream winters are fairly mild. Really low temperatures are uncommon here. During the summer temperatures may rise up to 25 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the sea is very pleasant as well making it very suitable for swimming. From the end of June summer really starts. Days are long and sunny then.
