The climate of Panama City (Panama)
Panama City is the capital of the Republic of Panama situated in Central America. The city is situated on the Pacific Ocean near the entrance of the famous Panama Canal. Thanks to the presence of huge numbers of Americans Panama City has grown into a fairly modern city with a skyline that wouldn’t be out of place in the United States. Because of the tropical climate it is always warm in Panama City. Daytime temperatures are always around 30 degrees Celsius. Nighttime temperatures below 22-24 degrees Celsius are uncommon. The city has two distinct seasons. A dry season from the end of December till the end of April and a distinct wet season from May till December. During this period precipitation figures are high. During the wettest months about 300 millimeters of rain can be recorded. Most of the rain falls in the form of showers often accompanied by thunderstorms.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
