The climate of Albufeira (Portugal)
Albufeira is located in the Faro municipality and has a Mediterranean climate characterized by warm and dry summers and mild and wet winters. Especially during the winter you should bear in mind that precipitation figures may be high. During the summer precipitation figures are very low. When it does rain this will often be short lived. In the interior temperatures are slightly higher on average because of the absence of the cooling effect of the sea wind. Albufeira is very suitable as a winter sun destination. Albufeira used to be a picturesque fishing village. However, over the past few years it has become one of the largest tourist attractions in the Algarve. The beautiful wide beaches make this an ideal destination for sun worshippers. Whoever is looking for a more active holiday can enjoy one of the many golf resorts in the region. You can also explore one of the many caves that can be found in the region. Please, bear in mind that precipitation figures may be high during the winter.
