The climate of Costa de Lisboa (Portugal)
Costa de Lisboa is the coastal region in the vicinity of the capital Lisbon. The region mainly consists of rough rock formations and long sandy beaches. The surroundings also consist of forests, mainly eucalyptus trees, maple trees, chestnut trees, cork oaks and ferns can be found here. The Tagus River flows through the region. The beautiful historic city of Sintra can also be found in this region. Here you can admire the Palácio da Pena, the Quelez Palace and the Sintra Palace. Several seaside resorts are also situated within the region, among them are Setúbal and Estoril.
Costa de Lisboa has a warm maritime climate which is also referred to as a subtropical climate. During the summer daytime temperatures are just below 30 degrees Celsius. During the winter daytime temperatures are around 15 degrees Celsius. This is fairly mild. However, temperatures are too low to make this place suitable as a winter sun holiday. During the summer the temperature of the sea is just below 20 degrees Celsius. Most precipitation falls during the winter; summers are very dry.
