The climate of San Marino
San Marino is a sovereign microstate surrounded by Italy at about 5 kilometers from the popular seaside resort of Rimini. Because of its situation near the Adriatic Sea summers are warm and winters are mild with fairly low precipitation figures.
San Marino has a Mediterranean climate (type Cfa according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification) with precipitation all year round. During the summer precipitation figures are slightly lower; during fall precipitation figures are slightly higher. San Marino not only enjoys a pleasant climate, the tax environment is favorable as well making it relatively cheap to go shopping here. Especially Italians and tourists that stay along the Adriatic coast.

More climate information
Climate tables are useful but they don’t give an overall picture of the climate and possible weather conditions during a period of time. How high the chances are of hot or cold weather or hurricanes can often not be found in these tables. This is why we offer extra climate information.
