The climate of Buraydah (Saudi Arabia)
Buraydah is located in the province of Al Qasim of which it also is the capital. Buraydah is an oasis on the banks of the Wadi Al Rummah. Oranges and lemons have been cultivated in this oasis since time immemorial. The latest technology now makes it possible to cultivate different wheat types as well. Nowadays the city is the largest and most important grain supplier of the country. Buraydah has its own airport and can also be reached by several highways. Buraydah has a desert climate with hot summers and warm winters. Precipitation figures are low all year round. The presence of the Wadi Al Rummah prevents the oasis from drying up. During the summer it is very hot with temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. During the hottest part of the day you’d best seek cooling under a palm tree or in a hotel with air conditioning. Winters are warm. However, it may be cool during the night. Subzero temperatures are uncommon.
