The climate of Cap Skirring (Senegal)
Cap Skirring is located in the most southwestern part of Senegal in the Ziguinchor region on the Atlantic Ocean. Cap Skirring used to be a fishing village but during the second part of last century it became a popular tourist destination. Several resorts can be found here as well as an 18 hole golf course. The city has its own airport. Most tourists travel here to spend the winter which is reflected by the average age of the tourists. Just like Ziguinchor which is located somewhat further into the interior Cap Skirring has a tropical savannah climate influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. There is one distinct rainy7 period from June till October. During this rainy period humidity figures may rise. From November till April a Harmattan wind may blow. This type of wind supplies dry and dusty air from the Sahara.
