The climate of Underberg (South Africa)
Underberg is located east of the Lesotho province in the Drakensbergen Mountain Range. Underberg is a popular destination with mountain bikers, hikers and anglers. Fly fishing is said to be very special in this region.
Underberg has a moderate cold climate. The Agulhas Current is responsible for cold onshore winds. During the summer temperatures are lower on average than in other parts of South Africa. Winters are pretty warm. Because of the cold onshore winds Underberg has more rainy days than other parts of South Africa. During the winter subzero temperatures are not uncommon.
