The climate of El Cotillo (Canary Islands / Spain)
El Cotillo is a fishing village located in the northeastern part of Fuerteventura. Nowadays it is a tourist resort. Because both beaches and accommodation are situated outside the village El Cotillo has been able to keep its authentic character. A Dutch website (mooistedorpjes.nl) voted El Cotillo one of the most beautiful villages on Fuerteventura. Because of several fish restaurants this is the place on Fuerteventura to eat fresh fish or shellfish. Because of its situation on the north side of the island there is more wind here and the waves are higher. The sea north of El Cotillo is ideal for kite surfing or wind surfing. On the beach there are enough quiet spots. The main beach of El Cotillo is situated around a bay. Because of this there is less wind here.
