The climate of Playa de las Américas (Canary Islands / Spain)
Together with Los Cristianos Playa de las Americas is one of the oldest seaside resorts on the Canary Islands. Project developers already saw the potential of this part of Tenerife decades ago. Summers are pleasantly warm without getting too hot. During the winter the weather is mild and most days are sunny. This makes this part of the island very suitable as a winter sun destination. The winter is actually the high season here; many Spaniards as well as other Europeans stay here during the winter to escape from the cold of the continent. Playa de las Americas is situated in the driest and sunniest part of Tenerife. Chances of a cloudy or rainy day are small. This is also why Playa de las Americas is popular among tourists. In the northern part the city almost seamlessly merges together with the more luxurious Costa Adeje. In the east the city directly borders Los Cristianos.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
