The climate of Llanes (Spain)
Llanes is a small town and a municipality in the Astoria region in the northwestern part of Spain. This part of the Spanish Atlantic coast is also known as Costa Verde. The city is very popular among tourists because of its beautiful situation on the Gulf of Biscay at the foot of the Picos de Europa mountain range. The coastline here mainly consists of slate rocks. In the mountains surrounding the city several caves with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites can be found. Llanes has a moderate maritime climate strongly influenced by the Gulf of Biscay. The Picos de Europa mountain range also exerts its influence on the climate. During the summer average daytime temperatures are about 23 degrees Celsius (73.4 degrees Fahrenheit). During the night average temperatures are about 13 degrees Celsius (55.4 degrees Fahrenheit). Precipitation figures are fairly high here. Precipitation is evenly spread out over the year.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
