The climate of Sanxenxo (Spain)
Sanxenxo is a small tourist city located in the northwestern part of Spain in the Pontevedra province in the vicinity of the city of Vigo. During the winter this seaside resort is almost completely abandoned giving it the appearance of a ghost town. During the summer many tourists travel here to enjoy everything Sanxenxo has to offer. In the vicinity of the city several beaches can be found. Several of these beaches on the Atlantic Ocean are very popular among water sports enthusiasts. From Sanxenxo a ferry sails to the island Isla de Ons. Sanxenxo has a moderate maritime climate strongly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. Because of this influence extremes in weather are uncommon in Sanxenxo. However, because of the influence of the Atlantic Ocean temperatures are much lower here during the summer than in other Spanish coastal towns. During the winter heavy rainfall is not uncommon. Summers are dry. The temperature of the sea hardly ever rises above 20 degrees Celsius (68.0 degrees Fahrenheit).
