The climate of Sitges (Spain)
Sitges is a small town located in the northeastern part of Spain in the Catalonia region in the Barcelona province. The city of Barcelona is located a few kilometers from Sitges. Sitges is often used by locals and tourists as a refuge to escape the crowded city. Sitges is also known as the Gay Capital of Spain. Several gay bars and discotheques can be found here. The annual Gay parade is also held here. Sitges has a warm Mediterranean climate strongly influenced by the Mediterranean Sea. Because of this influence extremes in weather are uncommon. During the warmest days of the year an ever blowing sea breeze offers some cooling. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year with a peak during fall.
