The climate of Zermatt (Switzerland)
Zermatt is located at an altitude of 1,620 meters at the foot of Mount Matterhorn. This well known skiing resort has many skiing tracks and skiing schools. The population (4,000) depends on the season. Although this is a skiing resort sports enthusiasts are also in the right place during summer. Mountain biking, paragliding and mountaineering are among the possibilities. Despite its altitude summers are pleasant with temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius on average because Zermatt is situated on the south side of the mountain. Zermatt gets less precipitation than other parts of Switzerland.
