The climate of Sumbawanga (Tanzania)
Sumbawanga is a large city located in the southwestern part of Tanzania in the Rukwa province of which it also is the capital. Sumbawanga is situated in the Mbizi mountain range at an altitude of about 1,800 meters. North of the city Kigali National park is situated; west of the city Lake Rukwa is situated. In the vicinity of the city the Kalambo waterfalls can be found. Despite all these attractions only few tourists visit Sumbawanga. Sumbawanga has a China climate with high precipitation figures during the local summer. The rainy period lasts for about 6 months alternated with a very dry period. Temperatures here are about 24 degrees Celsius (75.2 degrees Fahrenheit). The figures below are for Sumbawanga city. Please, bear in mind that the higher situated parts of the city may be much cooler.
