The climate of Birmingham (Alabama - United States of America)
Birmingham is a large city located centrally in the northern part of Alabama. Birmingham is the largest city in Alabama. With three universities it is a real university city. The University of Alabama School of Medicine, University of Alabama School of Dentistry and the University of Alabama at Birmingham can be found here. Just outside the city Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge can be found. Birmingham has a warm maritime climate with pleasantly warm summers and cold winters. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year. On average more than 1,500 millimeters of annual precipitation can be recorded. Birmingham is located on Hurricane Alley and is situated in a region that gets hit by a tornado on a regular basis. During the summer temperatures are about 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 degrees Fahrenheit). High temperatures in combination with high precipitation figures may cause humidity figures to be high as well. During the winter subzero temperatures are not uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
