The climate of Yuma (Arizona

Yuma is a large city located in the most southwesterly tip of Arizona
on the border with the state of California. Yuma is located in Yuma
County which borders Mexico. In the vicinity of the city the Yuma
Crossing can be found which used to connect Las Californias and New
Spain across the Colorado River. Fort Yuma used to be situated at this
crossing. The city was named after this fortress. Nowadays Yuma
Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park can be found here. Yuma has a
warm desert climate with extremely low precipitation figures all year
round. Temperatures are high all year round with a peak during summer.
During the summer temperatures may rise as high as 50 degrees Celsius
(122 degrees Fahrenheit) or even more. During the winter subzero
temperatures are not uncommon.
