The climate of Santa Barbara (California - United States of America)
Santa Barbara is located in the southwestern part of California in Santa Barbara County on the Pacific Ocean. The city is also known as the American Rivièra. This is why so many tourists travel here and the main source of this seaside resort is tourism. Spectacular events are organized every year. Los Padres National Forest can be found a few kilometers into the interior. This is a very large nature reserve; the Big Sur area is also part of this park. The city is known worldwide for the Santa Barbara television series.
anta Barbara has a Mediterranean climate with pleasant summers and mild winters. Most precipitation falls during fall and during the winter. Just like along the entire southwest coast of California Tule Fog occurs regularly in Santa Barbara. This type of fog usually occurs during the morning and may cause dangerous traffic situations. The coastal region here is much drier than regions which are located only a few kilo0meters into the interior. Smog is not uncommon in this region.
