The climate of Stamford (Connecticut
- United States of America)
Stamford is located near the southwestern point of Connecticut on the
Long Island Sound. In this estuary four islands can be found which are
part of Stamford: Grass Island, Greenway Island, Jack Island and
Vincent Island. Stamford is a modern city with many high rise
buildings. Three universities can be found in Stamford.
Stamford has a warm maritime climate with warm summers and cold
winters. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year with
the occasional peak. Summers are warm and remain pleasant because of
the influence of the Long Island Sound. Winters are cold longer
periods with subzero temperatures are not uncommon.
