The climate of Dodge City (Kansas - United States of America)
Dodge City is a small city located in the southwestern part of Kansas in Ford County. The city was named after Fort Dodge which was located in the vicinity of the city. The city was founded during the second half of the 19th century. During this period the city was known as Queen of the Cow Towns. The city played an important role in the Wild West. However, this ended at the end of the 19th century. Nowadays the main sources of income are agriculture and small industry. Several remains dating back to the Wild West can still be found here such as the Long Branch Saloon. The Long Branch Variety Show is still held as well.
