The climate of Columbia (Maryland
- United States of America)
Columbia is located centrally in the state of Maryland. Columbia was
founded in 1967 as a planned community consisting of 10 self contained
small villages. This idea was abandoned years ago. However, it has
left its marks. Nowadays Columbia has a population figure of almost
100,000. Columbia has a moderate maritime climate slightly influenced
by the Atlantic Ocean. Winters are cold with snowfall and rain.
Summers are pleasantly warm with fairly high precipitation figures.
Because of the influence of the Atlantic Ocean extremes are uncommon.
Spring and fall are very erratic.
