Saint Cloud is a medium-sized city located centrally in Minnesota. The
Mississippi River flows through the city. A hydroelectric power
station is situated in the river. This station provides the city and
the surrounding region with electric power. The St. Cloud Regional
Airport can be found near the city. The city was founded during the
19th century and flourished when a train station was constructed here.
Saint Cloud has a moderate continental climate with cold, bleak
winters and short but warm summers.
Winters are long and very cold. During the winter long and fierce
snowstorms are not uncommon. Summers are pleasantly warm. However,
temperatures rapidly drop during the evening. During the summer
precipitation figures may be high. During the winter most
precipitation falls in the form of snow.
