The climate of Great Falls (Montana - United States of America)
Great Falls is a large city located in the central western part of the state of Montana in Cascade County on the banks of the Missouri River. The city was named after the five waterfalls in the Missouri River. In total the water drops more than 55 meters here. The biggest waterfall is 25 meters high. The Malmstorm Air Force Base and the 341st Missile Wing can be found in Great Falls.
Great Falls has a cold steppe climate with one distinct rainy period from April till August. During the rest of the year precipitation figures are very low. During the winter average temperatures are below freezing point and longer periods with subzero temperatures are not uncommon. During the warmest days of summer temperatures are about 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
